Dallas, TEXAS, November 21, 2022 – Railspire, a company that retrofits locomotives for autonomous driving, today announced it has signed its first customer agreement with a central California shortline railroad that carries thousands of carloads annually and that interchanges with BNSF Railway and Union Pacific.
“Securing our first customer just a short period of time after our proof of concept field demonstrations proves how in demand and valuable our technology is to the industry,” said Lester Hightower, co-founder and board chairman of Railspire. “We look forward to delivering a tangible return on investment to our first customer and to continuing to add customers in the coming weeks and months.”
Earlier this month, the company announced a $6.1 million fundraise. Since the company’s founding in September 2020, Railspire has raised more than $11.5 million.
